The Sweetest Surprise

Let me just begin by saying today was a Major funk day. I mean I was waaay down in funkville. I don't know why really, as I have said before I know there are many who have been waiting considerably longer than we have and as my wise Uncle keeps reminding me it will happen when it is meant to happen. I know all this but my heart still aches all the same for this little baby girl. I believe in my heart she has been born, she is waiting for us too.
So after feeling bummed all day.... the phone in our classroom rings "Tamara can you come to library I have something I need you to pick up." Imagine my surprise when I walk into the library, decorated, full of all our staff. OBSIDIAN MIDDLE SCHOOL ROCKS! These wonderful people had put together a baby shower for myself and a co-worker who is expecting her baby in August. Let me tell you, I about started bawling. I am so completely touched by the thoughtfulness of my co-workers. Being an adoptive Mom I just never really expected anything and the fact that they thought of it means so much.
We received so many adorable things for Paige. I came home and stacked everything on the table so my Hubb ( who has known about this for the last few weeks!) could open everything back up and enjoy it too!
Not sure if my nervous system can take much more of these up&down emotions though.
I should be getting pictures of the shower in the next few day's so I will post a couple.
Congratulations to the Solbergs who are in Vietnam right now meeting their twins!

What a wonderful surprise! I love to hear stories of people that "get it"
Last fall, post referal but before travel, our pastor was recognizing all the "women in our church who were expecting"
I sat there thiking about it...I was expecting in a way, but not tummy, no showers, nothing like that...but the emotions (up and down like a roller coaster) the sleepless nights, all of it was the same. Anyhow, one of the pregnant women interrupted his prayer to see if he thought I should come up too. Just knowing that someone who never has adopted, never talked to me about it "got it." I bawled at that in front of our entire church.
Anyhow all that to say how wonderful to work with a bunch of people who understand a bit better than the rest of the world!
And, I admit, I'm stalking your blog as I get this feeling your referral is coming soon and I want to be one of the firsts to say congrats!
